An area's image is seen as an important ingredient in the mix needed to attract new business and jobs, and one of the objectives of the Forest is to create an attractive setting for business activity.
The Brighter Business programme, managed by CSCT, works to enhance business environments in support of this objective. Business premises on prominent and strategic sites may receive Local Enterprise Company (LEC) assistance towards the costs of landscape improvements, with the aim of benefiting not only the client business itself, but also its staff, visitors, customers, neighbours and the travelling public. The assistance can be up to half the total agreed costs of a project.
The works can include tree and shrub planting, paving and other "hard" landscaping, and, sometimes, "facelifts" to the buildings themselves.
